Baby Heart Monitors (aka Fetal Doppler monitors) are typically a compact, handheld device that uses ultrasound to hear and monitor an unborn child’s heartbeat.
Originally intended for use by health care professionals, the fetal dopplers have become extremely popular for personal use. Fetal dopplers have become so simple and easy-to-use that even expectant mothers can monitor their own baby’s health with daily checks.
Instead of displaying both picture and sound, a fetal doppler focus on audio transmission allowing expecting parents to hear and record their babies heartbeat. It serves to facilitate parental bonding and to comfort mothers in moments of concern.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The pocket-size Fetal Doppler PG-L6 heartbeat monitor is a high quality, medical grade device capable of detecting a fetal heart rate (FHR). Designed to be used for routine examinations by obstetricians and mid-wives – suitable for hospitals, clinical and home care use. It is recommended for patient use after the 12th week of pregnancy.
The PG-L6 is a high performance model with FHR digital value display and excellent sound quality. It is a simple, easy-to-use, even for personal use, allowing expectant mothers to listen to the their baby’s heartbeat. The PG-L6 has audio playback along with an audio output to connect earphones or a recorder.

HOW TO USE:
- Sit comfortably. Apply some gel on the probe or on the abdomen. The gel is necessary for efficient operation. Lack of a signal can be due to the absence or insufficient amount of gel.
- Place the probe directly against the abdomen. and search for fetal heart signals by slowly moving the handle across the abdomen. Tilt the handle slightly as you move the probe across and down the lower abdomen until fetal heart tones are heard. Adjust the handle position to obtain an optimal audio signal.
- Once a clear fetal heart signal is established, the fetal doppler will automatically calculates the fetal heart rate and displays it on the LCD.
Note: Fetal heart sounds like the hoofbeats of a galloping horse. The fetal heart rate usually ranges between 140-160 beats per minute (approx. twice the maternal rate).
