Advances in emergency cardiac care continue to improve the chances of surviving cardiac arrest, however cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death in many parts of the world. 

Most of these deaths occur with little or no warning, from a syndrome called Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The most common cause of Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a disturbance in the heart rhythm called ventricular fibrillation.

Automated External Defibrillators

Automated External Defibrillators, when used within the first 3-5 minutes of a person suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest can dramatically increase a victims chance of survival from what is currently less than 5% to as much as 70% and higher with a defibrillator on the scene.
